 bruary 19 through March 23, 2026, at the Headquarters Library.Presented in
  partnership with the Georgia Writers Museum and Georgia Public Library Se
 rvice, this free exhibition celebrates three notable African American writ
 ers who lived in Middle Georgia:• Alice Walker• Jean Toomer• Raymond
  AndrewsEach of these authors has been inducted into the Georgia Writers H
 all of Fame and has made a lasting impact on American literature.Alice Wal
 ker, Pulitzer Prize–winning author of The Color Purple, rose from rural 
 Georgia to worldwide literary prominence.Jean Toomer, author of Cane, drew
  inspiration from his time in rural Georgia to create one of the most infl
 uential works of the Harlem Renaissance.Raymond Andrews, raised on a Georg
 ia sharecropping farm, crafted powerful stories rooted in Southern life an
 d resilience.Library visitors are invited to explore the exhibit and check
  out works by these featured authors during their visit.This exhibit is fr
 ee and open to the public during regular library hours.
